Why we built this
Every writing tool we found online had the same problem: it was either buried in a content marketing platform, behind an account wall, or padded with ads that slowed it to a crawl. We just wanted a fast, accurate word counter that told us our reading time without making us create a profile.
So we built TextTools. Free, fast, private. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — your text never leaves your device.
What we believe about writing tools
A good writing tool should be invisible. It should get out of your way, give you the number you need, and let you get back to writing. It shouldn't try to upsell you, ask for your email, or show you content about content marketing.
We also believe in honesty about metrics. If your Flesch-Kincaid score is 14 (university-level), we're going to tell you — not round it down to make you feel better. Honest feedback helps you improve. Flattering feedback keeps you stuck.
Who we are
TextTools is part of Infinfy Solutions, a 100% AI-powered web agency based in Vancouver, BC. We build utility sites and review resources for writers, developers, and business owners.
Our editorial team uses these tools ourselves — for blog posts, client deliverables, newsletter copy, and the occasional 2am deadline sprint.
How we make money
TextTools is free. We earn a small commission if you click through to a paid tool like Grammarly and decide to upgrade. You pay nothing extra — the commission comes from the tool's marketing budget, not your pocket. We only recommend tools we actually use and rate highly.
